The missing Wise Man

Our walk today begins in a little square in front of the parish church of San Pablo in Malaga, surrounded by blue butterflies drawn on the wall. Oh, there was also a flower pot - also drawn on the same wall and the man who was there, sitting on a bench, looked at me in a rather strange way. I am sure he wondered what was so interesting about that wall that I approached it.

As the flowers were drawings, the grass took the initiative to bring life and grew there, between the pavement and the wall, looking for its little piece of space to get out of the ground.

We turned right from the square and walked through a little street where I saw more grass, I mean plants; those were growing from the pots in front of the entrance to the house.

It was still not what I wanted to see from this city, Malaga when we visited it at the beginning of this year. As I explained here, we were looking for a locksmith to make a copy of the car key as I lost it. However, it was not the way how we wanted to spend our time there, so we just paused that activity to find a locksmith and started to behave like real tourists. 😆

Crossing one of the bridges over The Guadalmedina River, we found ourselves in the historical city centre. That is what I wanted to enjoy: the vibe of the old city, museums, architecture, the cathedral, the castle, etc. But I also found someone I didn't expect to meet. On the square of Our Lady of Peace, I met one of the Three Wise Men. Then I set myself a goal - to find all of them.

Everything was so close. Just a few steps further, we saw a church, more squares, museums and nice murals. This is the Church of the Sacred Heart on the San Ignacio square (which is the following photo).

And again... just a few steps away, we stood in front of the Carmen Thyssen Museum. There was an exhibition that we haven't visited, but one Hiver did and showed it in her post.

Plaza de la Constitución was our next stop. Oh, what happened to those palm trees? They are a bit crooked. I promise it was not me who took the photo in a crooked way, although many of the photos you see in this post have their... tendency to become crooked, especially the big buildings, towers, or churches... 😅

The Christmas Tree, without its lights, was just an invitation to come back here later in the evening and see it with the light on. The same as the angels in Larios Street.

From this square, we went toward the Cathedral of Malaga and the Episcopal Palace of Malaga. They also came out crooked. An easy conclusion can be drawn from this - maybe I was drunk (from the joy of being there 😉).

The Cathedral of Malaga is a giant squeezed in narrow streets, and to see it better from other angles, I made a little stroll around it. So, the following photos all represent the same building, the Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación, as its Spanish name is.

From the city centre, we went to the Alcazaba Castle, a place that deserves a separate post for it. We took this way on foot; it was easy to find, and after the visit, we continued to the ruins of the Roman Theatre.

The Roman Theatre ruins are located very close to the Alcazaba castle. We see the walls of the fortress in the background.

But, what do we see here? 👀

Hurrah! I found the second Wise Man.

Ok, the third one was still missing, my goal to find all of them that day in the city centre of Malaga failed. 😆

Maybe not a complete failure, as I found some different guys... Christmas Nutcracker dolls, the guards of this restaurant, closing this post and sending greetings to all the Wednesday walkers.
