Superstition?
Today is Friday. Just a few hours of this day are left, and then the weekend can start. Oh, but it is the 13th day of this month, my husband noticed this morning. Yeah, I know, I have seen that in my calendar already some weeks ago while scheduling the lessons and chores I have to do today. Nothing special and unusual, to have a Friday the 13th, although it is widely considered an unlucky day. ๐คทโโ I don't know why it is such a big deal. In my opinion, it is just a long-standing superstition.
Yes, they say that it can be because of some historical events or coming from a certain event from the Bible (Judas, the thirteenth guest at the Last Supper, for example). It appears as an unlucky number in some legends as well.
I didn't notice it would bring me any bad luck, or if yes, I don't remember anymore. What I know today is that my day is quite... strange unusual.
First of all, I arrived at my private student's home one hour earlier! I was sure I was coming at the right time. So confident, I rang the doorbell, but then I couldn't understand why his look was so surprised... Oh my God, an hour earlier? ๐ฑ But he was happy, the happiest in the world - his solution was that I would give him a double piano lesson and he would pay for those two hours instead of one.
That is how it happened indeed, the two hours passed very quickly as we also talked a bit and had a medical check too haha! As he is a traumatologist, he wrote me a referral for an X-ray of my hip, to be able to do it in a private hospital, as I hadn't been called from the health centre for that since March. He is worried, as that thing is not improving as it should, even though I have regular physiotherapy treatments...
So, you see, I can have a medical check and get paid for that as a piano lesson. ๐
The "smiling tree" also finds it funny. Or perhaps it's simply pleased to be able to make others smile back or provide shade for the tiny insects that live in the grass around it. Standing there days and nights, sending healing vibes into the hearts of passersby, and if it can help in that process, its mission will be accomplished. I smiled back at him, feeling that life is full of marvellous moments and continued my way to the school where I had scheduled more lessons, starting with another adult student who had just come back from his adventure, Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James).
Oh my... his message with the photo of one of his arms, wrapped in bandages, left me speechless! ๐ฑ Don't worry, it is not so serious, just an allergic reaction he got, but obviously, we couldn't have our lesson. He invited me to have a cup of coffee and let me know about his walking adventure that lasted for more than a week.
So, once again you see, I can have a coffee break and get paid for that as a piano lesson. ๐
He had a special sparkle in his eyes as he spoke about his journey along the Way of St. James. According to him, this was perhaps one of the best experiences of his life, better than any journey he had ever taken, because it was completely different, being surrounded by nature for a week, sharing this route with close friends and being cut off from any screens. It is also a way to meditate, to think calmly, and probably change some ways of thinking and get a different attitude toward life in general. Maybe he also saw many smiling trees while walking for one week in the forests. ;)
Oh, about superstitions and Friday the 13th... do you think some bad luck can come just because of the number and day? No.
No, definitely it is not the case. No bad luck.
...
Noooooooooooooo ๐ญ
Did I really have to cut my finger just before I finished this post?
