Dolce Vita

Sweet Life! Now that can really be applied to this post, or at least to its title. We will treat a sweet topic here.

For the last few days I have drank quite a lot of this tasty hot drink in different places.

Lately, I haven't been adding sugar to my coffee at home. I can better distinguish and enjoy the flavours of the coffee itself if I drink it without the sweet addition. However, when we travel, my husband and I share a small package of sugar between the two of us for coffee, I guess it's a custom already. There were so many places where we stopped, so many coffees, and with that, so many small packages of sugar. A cute little collection has been created, quite accidentally by bringing some of them home!

Cool, isn't it?

Perfect for this month's official theme in our Collectors' Community. 🍬

Some of these tiny paper bags came from our previous trips. One by one, I will introduce the country they come from. Let's start.

Last year started with a road trip to Portugal. We drove through the south of Spain and visited a few coastal towns like Almería, Málaga, Tarifa, Cádiz, and Huelva. Then we arrived in Portugal where we visited Lisbon, Nazaré and Porto. To be honest, I don't remember which city or stop between cities I took this little package of sugar from, but it came to my home from that trip.

Our route when we go on vacation to visit our families always includes Italy and France. Big countries, for sure. It means a lot of stops and a lot of coffee. These are from Italy:

From France:

One from Serbia. The translation of these words is energy for living. We always need that, of course, and sometimes it comes from a good cup of coffee with the exact amount of sugar in it. :)

Even though I am only in Spain and find a sugar packet next to my coffee with an interesting message, I like to read it. Some of them I took home, but I remember there were many more in my coffee cups. Those who were lucky enough to survive and come home are here now:

Somos lo que elegimos ser. - We are what we choose to be.

IMG_20240729_141848.jpg

El final de algo, no es más que empezar algo nuevo. - The end of something is nothing more than starting something new.

Los pequeños actos cambian el mundo. - Small acts change the world.

Small acts can change the world... I think I can agree with that as well with the one that says that we are what we choose to be. The same happened with this official theme for August in the Hive Collectors Community. I chose it to treat a sweet topic as I saw and tasted so many sweet grains of sugar through these small packages.

But, the topic is actually quite free, as if you like you can bring any collection of yours that is connected to something sweet... A collection of chocolate papers, biscuit boxes, packages of candies...a collection of homemade cookies or anything else you consider as sweet. Be creative and look around you, what is that sweetens your life? It maybe doesn't have to be edible... Dolce vita, in any sense.
