Extremes that balance each other [EN/PT]
Hello Splinters, welcome back!
Yes, you’ve probably heard me mention a few times here that I generally strive for balance, and it’s really true, in many battles, my main goal is to have my team’s offense and defense working synergistically. Except on a few occasions, or rather, a few opportunities, I choose to sacrifice defense in favor of a more aggressive offense, but in most cases, attack and defense are almost evenly balanced.
When we look at the word “balance,” it might imply that we’re being weak or even neutral when we choose both extremes as our gameplay philosophy, but the fact is that, even while maintaining balance, it’s possible to reach extreme levels. Having a balanced game doesn’t mean you can’t be very offensive or very defensive, but rather that you’re able to effectively manage both aspects to achieve a result, without sacrificing one for the other and without leaving major weaknesses.
Perhaps it’s because I don’t want to leave too many weaknesses that I always opt for this balance, since most of the time, if you choose just one playstyle, you leave an opening that your opponent can exploit, and so, I believe, it’s a very good way to achieve good results, and at least for me, it’s worked very well, especially with the Life element, which, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know is my favorite for turning these two extremes into major strengths.
In today’s battle, I’ll admit that offense was my biggest strength, but I never compromise on a solid defense. And even though it might seem like my team doesn’t have a very strong defense, if you pay a little closer attention, you’ll see how I positioned my units to actually create a very effective defense. But today’s battle is all about that, about the possibility of being extreme while still maintaining the necessary balance between the two aspects of any battle, war, or fight, whatever you’re doing! Stay tuned!

We have 85 mana for this battle, and this large amount has opened the door to exploring higher-cost monsters, why not? A battle rule whose mechanics I still don’t fully understand, and all available elements except for the water element.
For the tank role, this is my favorite, it possesses nearly absolute destructive power. It has a strong attack, speed, and health and as if that weren’t enough, one of its abilities can further boost its power, while the other allows it to attack again if struck by another melee monster.
My opponent also makes an interesting choice, and I’ll admit I don’t see this monster very often here in the Wild format. With good attack, defense, health, and speed, it’s a very interesting monster to face.
My back row was a joy to watch in action. In the first two positions, sturdy monsters with incredible attack power that also add melee attack to the team. At the center of it all, Iziar, the true tank of choice, with magic attack resistance and an enviable amount of health! Even when killed, he boosts the monsters adjacent to him. In the last two positions, monsters that attack the enemy’s back row and possess interesting traits.
It was a really good battle; I felt like I managed to put together the best possible deck for this match. Of course, if I still had the cards I sold, it would have been even better, but given the more limited range of options, it was amazing!
Well, that wraps up this post, and I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time!
