Enough Was Always There, I Just Didn’t Notice

Physically, nothing has changed but my attention has changed... It's how I knew I have stopped reaching for more and appreciating what is already enough. I hear people say this is the words of a poor mindset or weak person because reaching for more is the only way many know to show that they are being strong and are growing.

Honestly, I thought the same until I learned more and the more I learned, the more I noticed the blessings of enough that I am already enjoying. Before now, I would focus on the "this isn't enough" instead of seeing the value in the enough that I already have, I'm unlearning that.

Appreciation from noticing what's already enough doesn't shift doesn't come with a loud bang, it's in the little things you have somehow gotten too familiar with that you've been failing to see it's worth or value. There's like so much I have even though I felt there's much I don't have.

I remember a quote I saw some days ago that tuned my heart to count my blessings silently "There are so much I don't have, yet there is so much I am grateful for". I caught myself smiling for the little yet big blessings I have been overlooking, especially my family and my health.

I have learned that the appreciation shifts when I stopped rushing and started pausing, I've not always been the kind that rushed normally but it wasn't by intention so I didn't really take time to notice the things that I am grateful for when I wasn't rushing. So now, I pause with intentions.

Again, I learned appreciation more when I stopped comparing and start being aware of my life fully. This has changed so much in me than I signed up for when I decided to be intentional about what I tend to compare my life to. I found out I have such an interesting life that a lot I've compared to before don't even stand a chance.

That shift has helped me improve on my view of the world around me while I stay grateful for all I have already. It doesn't mean I won't go after what I still do need, I am human. But I am going after those that I need from a place of "I have things of value now" and practicing how to live fully with what I have already full of gratitude.

Images used are mine.
