One Week in Side (ENG / DEU)

Some time ago I went on vacation to Turkey again after many years. I used to go there almost every year with my parents and have now traveled with a friend near Side.

Today I would like to give you a brief insight into how I liked it there and what I think you shouldn't miss in the area. First of all, I have to admit that a week's beach vacation in Turkey is no longer really "my kind of vacation". The beaches were very crowded, it's extremely touristy and I no longer enjoy just lying on the beach every day like I used to.

Nevertheless, we had a great time.

I can particularly recommend visiting the old town of Side. It is really beautiful and impressive both during the day and at night.

In addition to old ruins, there are beautiful houses with small stores and some of the old town is illuminated in the ground. A visit to Manavgat is also worthwhile. Especially in the evening, when the bridge is illuminated.

However, I don't think you need to plan too much time for this. For me, the jeep tour that took us to the Manavgat waterfalls and other beautiful places was a particular highlight. Unfortunately, there was a big fire shortly before our trip, so parts of the landscape were still marked by the fire.

Hallo liebe Pinmapples,

vor einiger Zeit habe ich nach vielen Jahren mal wieder einen Urlaub in der Türkei gemacht. Früher war ich dort fast jedes Jahr mit meinen Eltern und bin nun mit einer Freundin in die Nähe von Side gereist. Ich möchte Euch heute einen kurzen Einblick geben, wie es mir dort gefallen hat und was ihr dort in der Nähe aus meiner Sicht nicht verpassen solltet.

Zuallererst muss ich gestehen, dass eine Woche Strandurlaub in der Türkei mittlerweile nicht mehr wirklich „meine Art von Urlaub“ ist. Die Strände waren sehr überfüllt, es ist extrem touristisch geprägt und ich genieße es nicht mehr wie früher jeden Tag einfach am Strand zu liegen. Trotzdem hatten wir eine schöne Zeit.

Besonders empfehlen kann ich Euch die Altstadt von Side zu besuchen. Diese ist sowohl am Tag als auch bei Nacht wirklich schön und beeindruckend. Neben alten Ruinen, gibt es wunderschöne Häuser in denen die kleinen Läden sind und teilweise ist die alte Stadt im Boden beleuchtet.

Auch ein Besuch in Manavgat lohnt sich. Vor allem am Abend, wenn die Brücke beleuchtet ist. Hier braucht ihr aus meiner Sicht aber nicht allzu viel Zeit einplanen.

Für mich war die Jeep Tour, die uns zu den Wasserfällen von Manavgat und an weitere schöne Orte geführt hat ein besonderes Highlight. Leider gab es kurz vor unserer Reise einen großen Brand, sodass Teile der Landschaft noch durch das Feuer gezeichnet waren. Trotzdem war es ein toller Ausflug.

Gerne gehe ich in einem meiner nächsten Beiträge auf Peakd nochmal detaillierter auf die einzelnen Orte und Sehenswürdigkeiten sowie meine Erfahrungen ein. Ich hoffe aber, dass Euch dieser kurze Einblick gefallen hat.
