Today I want to share with you how my grandchildren enjoyed the different activities planned at their schools.

Maximiliano, the youngest of my grandchildren, had the most activities and wore several costumes on different occasions. Fortunately, he inherited some from his older brother, and others were gifts. At the beginning of the week, he had a photo shoot in which he wore a leopard print costume. To start the week, he had to wear his favorite costume, so he chose a Batman outfit. My daughter María improvised a mask out of foam, since the original one had broken.

To close out the week, he had a Disney-themed costume party. Initially, we thought he would repeat the costume from the photo shoot, but my daughter Daniela remembered that she had a Disney prince or sultan costume that she had received as a gift out of season. It was perfect for the party, so Maximiliano looked charming as the Sultan, father of Princess Jasmine, from the movie Aladdin.

Meanwhile, at Gael's school, my eldest grandson, the activities were simpler. They had scheduled a parade about flora and fauna for the end of the week, where they had to represent the Catatumbo lightning, a natural phenomenon in the state of Zulia. When my daughter told me how Gael should dress, we were shocked, since we had already prepared his Spiderman costume, and this changed all our plans.

The teachers sent examples of what the costume should look like. With these instructions and some ideas from the internet, we bought materials and got to work. Fortunately, my sister Dayana offered to make it, and it couldn't have turned out better. My grandson Gael was happy, wearing a large cloud on his head and a large silver lightning bolt on his chest, ready for the parade with his classmates in the group called Rayitos del Catatumbo.
