Splinterlands Art Challenge: Spiky Mad Ogre

Hey Splinterfriends and family! Its me masterzarlyn28, Here is another entry for Splinterlands Fan Art Challenge! Hooray! Im happy to share with you my process on how I draw this character. My drawing for this week is the Neutral Element Ogre from the Rebellion Edition Pack, Mad Ogre Anarchist. I thought it would be interesting to draw this character in my own version, so I chose it.

Step by step Process

The first thing I did, of course, was the rough outline. I just used a light rough brush for this because I’ll be overlaying later. It’s easier to sketch when your draft is a bit blurry.

alt

After finishing the rough draft, I outlined it, thickening the lines because that’s my style in drawing.

alt

After completing the thick outline, which took me quite a while, I started coloring. I first put in the main colors so I wouldn’t have trouble shading later on.

alt

For shading, I just used a dark tone on the main color using a water paint brush, and for highlights, I used an airbrush.

alt

I blurred the highlights but not the shadows.

For the background, I just did a rough scribble because I wanted a simple background.

alt

Lastly, I did a rough scribble of a whole layer and put it on the top layer. I adjusted its opacity and layer type.

This is my final artwork, and I hope you like my art style.

The Finished Product

I hope you enjoy my art work! Its good to be back. Thank you so much! See you in my next blog :)
