El Perro Fantasma / The Ghost Dog

En las mañanas siempre llega,
un fantasma de larga apariencia,
a la sala entra sin problema
y un jarrón en el suelo deja,
porque se estrelló con la mesa.

Luego el perro fantasma pasa,
hacia una habitación cercana,
ve la cama sin nada
y se trepa de forma acelerada
para dormir una siesta larga.

Every morning, a ghost
with a long, gaunt appearance
walks into the living room without a care
and knocks a vase to the floor,
because it bumped into the table.

Then the ghostly dog wanders off
to a nearby room,
sees the empty bed
and climbs up quickly
to take a long nap.

Cuando llegó a casa
veo que el reloj no anda,
se quedó a las nueve de la mañana
y veo que en el suelo algo anda
es mi jarrón y lo levanto con calma.

Cuando sigo a mi habitación,
hay un ser que no esperaba yo,
el fantasma dormido se quedó
sobre mi cama color marrón
y no sé que hacer en esta situación.

When I got home,
I saw that the clock wasn't working,
it had stopped at nine in the morning,
then I noticed something moving on the floor,
it was my vase, so I picked it up gently.

When I went into my room,
there was someone I hadn't expected to see,
a sleeping ghost was lying
on my brown bed,
and I didn't know what to do in this situation.

Me quedo parada junto a la cama
y se me ocurre una idea magna,
salgo de la habitación afanada
y regreso disfrazada,
con una manta blanca.

Me paro junto a la cama
con mi disfraz de fantasma
y cuando el perro se levanta,
se quita la manta que llevaba
y su mirada está aterrada.

I stand by the bed
and a brilliant idea strikes me,
I rush out of the room
and return in disguise,
wearing a white blanket.

I stand by the bed
in my ghost costume
and when the dog gets up,
he pulls off the blanket he was wearing
and looks absolutely terrified.

Me quito la manta también,
para que sepa que no hay por que temer,
le digo que todo está bien,
solo quise jugar está vez
para poderme acercar a él.

I pull the blanket off too,
so he knows there’s nothing to be afraid of,
I tell him everything’s fine,
I just wanted to play this time
so I could get closer to him.
