Queen of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters - My Actifit Report Card: August 6 2026

Hey Actifitters,

It was the big day yesterday for the Queen of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters show at Ford Field in Detroit, home of the Lions. But our activities started as usual with a quick walk with Kaia.

alt

alt

Even Le Chat joined us right away for once.

alt

Kaia really wanted to go in the forest again.

alt

But we were really short on time and I'm still a little worried about ticks, so we only went very quickly for a loop in the neighborhood.

alt

And let's go directly to the main event, a big stadium show for a legendary band from the late 90s, Foo Fighters, and a less famous one but just as talented, Queen of the Stone Age!
We parked a bit far, to avoid the horrible mess and traffic at the end of the show, that was a good way to get my steps for the day. And we arrived just for the start of Queen of the Stone Age set. Mannequin Pussy played before but it was just too early to see them. The set for QOTSA was really cool, very powerful music in my opinion.

alt

alt

I've really liked them since their breakout album in the early 2000s, Songs for the Deaf (by the way, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters was on the drums for that album) and they played their classics. So a good set, but only one hour felt a bit short for them.

alt

alt

But it's because Foo Fighters were the headliners, and they're very famous for playing very long set, 3 hours worth of great rock 'n roll! And so they did!

alt

So many songs to pick from all their albums, and so many classics! They did play a lot for the old schoolers like us.

alt

As often, they also included an acoustic part in the middle of their set.

alt

And when they each played a song from their previous respective band, we got to see Dave Grohl at the drums. So many years after Nirvana, it's still so good to see and most importantly hear him play the drums! Not the best photo but I will remember it for a long time!

alt

Well, 3 hours was maybe a bit long actually, but very very good. And the energy they all deliver, especially Grohl of course, was huge.

alt

I still prefer much smaller venues, but for a band now absolutely cult, you gotta accommodate all the fans! We were far but the sound wasn't bad at all, and we had a perfect line to the stage. All in all, a great night, with great music and good vibes!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
