Magi Technical Development Update // 7.1.2026
This update provides an expanded overview of the ongoing engineering efforts across the Magi ecosystem, with a focus on Altera application development, the BTC mapping layer, and core infrastructure improvements. Current work centers on bug fixes, UX and accessibility enhancements, Bitcoin mapping reliability, and strengthening backend resilience in preparation for upcoming releases.
Altera Application Work:
Development on the Altera application continues to focus on improving usability and expanding functionality for Bitcoin-related operations.
• Issues fixed with the sHBD display to ensure balances are shown correctly across all accounts.
• Feature added to display empty accounts, making it easier for users to understand account balances and manage their assets.
• Multiple bugs affecting lists and selection menus throughout the site resolved to improve consistency and usability.
• Continued building of UX flows for BTC withdrawal, deposit, and transfer functionality within Altera.
• A new withdrawal feature added to allow users to initiate BTC withdrawals directly from the interface.
• Refined asset selection workflows across the platform to make the process clearer and reduce potential user errors.
• Accessibility improvements to ensure that various interface elements are easier to navigate and interact with.
BTC Mapping Layer:
Work on the BTC mapping layer has progressed with testing, bug fixes, and updates to support network operations and transaction accuracy.
• Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) signing for Bitcoin transactions has been tested, including completing the first fully successfully signed transaction created via the mapping contract and TSS!
• Bugs have been fixed in UTXO storage that were identified during end-to-end testing of the mapping system.
• The fee structure has been updated so that recipients now receive the exact amount specified, with all fees added to the total transaction amount.
• Support has been added for compiling the UTXO mapping system for Bitcoin testnet to enable broader testnet compatibility.
go-vsc-node:
Work on the go-vsc-node client continues to improve node reliability and operation under various conditions.
• Development continued on a failsafe HiveGo client to improve the reliability and operation of the node under various conditions.
