Magi Technical Development Update // 4.2.2026

This update summarizes ongoing progress across the Altera app, backend infrastructure, smart contracts, and core node development as the project moves towards a full DEX testnet deployment.

Altera App:

• PR review issues resolved and the ⁨BtcMappingTr⁩ component cleaned up
• Block Explorer URL updated
• Incorrect “Unknown” status for map & unmap operations resolved
• BTC transaction detail sidebar fixed to prevent simultaneous error/success states
• IP-based country & state detection implemented via public geolocation API
• Coinbase API requests now dynamically use real user location, and currency conversion fully migrated to Coinbase API
• Multiple currency conversion bugs fixed
• Fallback handling added for V4V conversion API failures (auto-switch to Coinbase)

Summary:
Pricing and conversion behavior are now more consistent and less likely to fail. Overall user experience is cleaner, with fewer confusing states or edge-case errors.

DEX+LPs:

• DEX/liquidity pool contracts extended to support mapped tokens in addition to native Hive tokens
• VSC nodes updated with fallback Hive RPC support to improve network stability
• WIP: Altera compatibility updates for new Hive transaction standards, enabling custom network/testnet support
• Intents system updated to preserve both Sender (transaction originator) and Caller (intermediate contract/user)
• BTC mapping contract updated to use the new intents system to prevent BTC overspending
• All changes are aligned toward a full DEX system testnet deployment.

Summary:
The foundation of the exchange system is becoming more reliable and flexible. Asset handling is safer and better prepared for real-world usage. These upgrades move the project closer to a full public test deployment.

Smart Contracts:

• Testnet functionality added to okinoko.io (WIP, not in production)
• Contract deployment backend service in progress (WIP)
• Precompiled contracts deployable via UI without coding knowledge
• Deployment UI under development
• Deployment service with testnet connectivity
• Continued development of a multi-purpose DAO contract: https://github.com/tibfox/okinoko_dao
• Continued development of an off-chain contract indexer (private repository)
• Array support added for schema fields (arrays cast into dedicated tables)
• Automatic contract discovery via well-known init events
• Standard contracts (WIP – pending review feedback)
• First draft token standard
• First draft NFT standard

Summary:
Contract creation is moving toward being accessible to non-developers. Shared standards are forming that will make the ecosystem easier to build on. The infrastructure needed for a larger contract ecosystem is steadily taking shape.

Magi Nodes:

• Contract owners can now update contract bytecode and metadata
• Ephemeral contract state added for temporary per-transaction storage
• Contract test utilities now return state diffs for transition assertions
• P2P configuration supports custom ports and bootnode overrides
• Network configuration enables bootstrapping a Magi testnet on a prebuilt HAF testnet
• CLI argument added for specifying node data directory

Summary:
Running and testing the network is becoming easier and more flexible. Developers gain better tools to validate behavior before deployment. This reduces friction when scaling the network and onboarding contributors.

hivego package:

• Asset serialization updated to HF26 method
• Support added for signing transactions with custom chain IDs (testnet support)

Summary:
The project stays aligned with current Hive standards. Test environments can now be used more safely without affecting live systems. This supports faster iteration and safer experimentation.
