Speak life!
Now that we barely entered the New Year, it is a good time to start changing the way we speak. Some people are not aware of the fact that the words we speak shape our lives. The Bible says there is life and death in the power of the tongue. The way we speak about or over ourselves is very important! We can build ourselves up and be our own friends or we can bring discouragement and be our enemies.
The way we speak about others or over other people is equally important. We can choose to build and encourage, or we can be negative, gossiping people, around whom nobody wants to be. It's so important to remember always that, in those moments when we don't have something positive or encouraging to say, we can just listen and say nothing.
There is a very popular saying: "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me", that I don't really agree with. Words do hurt, and most of the deep wounds that people carry throughout their lives are caused by words that shouldn't have been spoken or that were never spoken.
Let us be people who think and speak words that bring healing, refreshing and life to us, and to those around us!
