Beep! Hello, Steemians! lottobot@lottobot is back in action after the update that was scheduled for 10:00 PM CT today. This post is to let everyone know that submissions are reopened! Feel free to enter your posts for a chance to win a 100% upvote from lottobot@lottobot!

This update served to patch some bugs and add a few new features to lottobot@lottobot! Here's a quick summary of the changes made to the code:

Improvements

  • Greatly improved the data that lottobot@lottobot writes to the output log at each pass of the lottery

  • Improved error reporting and transparency of random resteem chance

  • lottobot@lottobot can now automatically collect its own curation rewards

  • Various small code optimizations and compartmentalizations

Additions

  • Replaced the 'killit.py' file with the much more robust runtime commander, which gives lottobot@lottobot's controller the ability to issue some useful commands to a running instance of lottobot@lottobot

  • Added an "associated" account that allows lottobot@lottobot to make automated transfers out of its main account

  • Gave lottobot@lottobot the ability to remember the lottery and pass number it was on last if shut down correctly

Fixes

  • Fixed an error where lottobot@lottobot might "hold over" a post that was entered even before the 30-min threshold, thus entering it in a later lottery

  • Fixed a few spelling errors in the configurator

Most of these changes affect those running instances of lottobot@lottobot themselves. If you would like to run your own, head over to the repo on GitHub and grab the source code! Its free, as in both "free speech" and "free beer"!

NOTE: Because of the shutdown, lottobot@lottobot will reset the number of the lottery it is holding, starting at 0. Because of recent upgrades, this will not happen during future updates. Consider the new lottery numbers final!
