A trip to Playa Escondida (ENG / ESP)

​As part of the summer plan, the "Learning to grow" project invited us to participate in three very special meetings: a magical trip to Playa Escondida.

​It all started on Wednesday with a welcome full of dances and songs. After a small snack, we participated in the presentation of a play made and performed by workers and volunteers who are part of this special place: Laura's House (or "the little house", as we affectionately call it). The projects Sueño Azul, Caminemos and Arcoíris also participated.

​The work told the story of Eugenio, a character who lived on this beautiful beach called Playa Escondida. He, along with his faithful dog and friend Sombra, took care of the place. Eugenio had become a somewhat sad and selfish person for living so far away from everyone; His heart had become small, until one day the beach was filled with a cheerful group of visitors.

​At the end of the play came the debate, and the children, little by little, gave their opinions until reaching the central message, which tells us about how friendship and smiles made Eugenio's small, wrinkled heart grow.

​In the second meeting, the children, divided into teams and guided by maps, traveled to the world of this character. So much fun for a morning! Crafts, drawing, dancing and even a hidden treasure. And of course, finally, in the third and last meeting, we all visited Playa Escondida: in the patio of the little house they were waiting for us with many water games.

What a tremendous journey full of magic and fantasy! They really surprised both parents and kids.

Sometimes, from small things, you can achieve immense things like this magical journey where we all share the joy of knowing that we are part of that great family that unites us from Cáritas.

​Como parte del plan de verano, el proyecto «Aprendiendo a crecer» nos invitó a participar en tres encuentros muy especiales: un viaje mágico hasta Playa Escondida.

​Todo comenzó el miércoles con una bienvenida llena de bailes y canciones. Después de una pequeña merienda, participamos en la presentación de una obra realizada y representada por trabajadores y voluntarios que son parte de este lugar especial: La Casa de Laura (o «la casita», como le decimos cariñosamente). También participaron los proyectos Sueño Azul, Caminemos y Arcoíris.

​La obra contaba la historia de Eugenio, un personaje que vivía en esta hermosa playa llamada Playa Escondida. Él, junto a su fiel perro y amigo Sombra, cuidaba del lugar. Eugenio se había convertido en una persona algo triste y egoísta por vivir tan apartado de todos; su corazón se había vuelto pequeño, hasta que un día la playa se llenó de un alegre grupo de visitantes.

​Al terminar la obra llegó el debate, y los niños, poco a poco, dieron sus opiniones hasta llegar al mensaje central, que nos habla de cómo la amistad y las sonrisas hicieron crecer el pequeño y arrugado corazón de Eugenio.

​En el segundo encuentro, los niños, divididos en equipos y guiados por mapas, viajamos hasta el mundo de este personaje. ¡Cuánta diversión para una mañana! Manualidades, dibujo baile y hasta un tesoro escondido. Y claro, finalmente, en el tercer y último encuentro, todos visitamos Playa Escondida: en el patio de la casita nos esperaban con muchísimos juegos de agua.

​¡Qué tremendo viaje lleno de magia y fantasía! Realmente nos sorprendieron tanto a padres como a chicos.

​A veces, desde lo pequeño, se pueden lograr cosas inmensas como este viaje mágico donde todos compartimos la alegría de sabernos parte de esa gran familia que nos une desde Cáritas.

​Ya me despido y les deseo un verano lleno de sol, y que siempre les sobre una sonrisa para compartir.
