Crossing Places

The Granville Bridge spans the waters of False Creek (an inlet of the Pacific ocean). It connects downtown with other neighbourhoods on the west side of the city. The original trestle was made of timber and built in 1889 by the Canadian Pacific Railway for a tidy sum of 16,000 loonies.

I recently posted a black and white exploration of the neighbourhood, and this particular snap shows the area from where I took this shot.
