A great weekend is only surpassed by a weekend that goes on too long. My weekend the weekend before last was full of magic, because finally after such a long time I went to the beach again, that special place where the salt water takes away your worries and burdens. When contemplating the sea you feel so small, but at the same time so complete since you have everything you need: life, health and even a little bit of time to enjoy it.

Before leaving home very early the electricity went out, something almost normal for the country where I live; however, at 5:00 a.m. it is not common that this service is removed; we still ventured out without letting this delay us. Hours later, with no signal on the phones, we found out that we are experiencing a national blackout that would last about 13 hours.

Ocumare de la Costa, in Aragua State, is one of the most beautiful beaches in my country characterized by a very hot sun, clean waters and bright sand; always there for you. You just have to be available with the best attitude ah, I almost forgot to mention: with little food in your stomach since it is necessary to cross the first National Park decreed in Venezuela, the imposing Henry Pittier: Henry Pittier which is located at an altitude ranging from 0 to 2,436 meters above sea level, with its pronounced curves that characterize the road that crosses it.

What we expected to be 2 nights ended up being 6 nights on the beach; thanks to a neighbor we were able to stay in one of his houses for rent called: "El Refugio del guerrero". It was the best decision because in spite of the electricity problem there was water permanently; something that hardly happens in hotels and inns.

I do not know how to swim but that does not prevent me from enjoying the beach and the shade provided by the palm trees with a bottle of vodka and a good orange juice, this pair made my stay even more relaxed, I lasted almost three days, while my husband and his son enjoyed whiskey and beers.

We had a lot of variety in promotions of awnings and umbrellas, we were attended by a whole character, nicknamed in "El Playón" as the "Timbiriche". With a lot of patience and charisma. If you come to Ocumare definitely look for him and he will give you the best prices.
