Culinary Kitchen - a real treat back home in South Africa
Back in South Africa for a short visit with family. My girlfriend and I went to place called Culinary Table in Lanseria - near the airport.
There’s something special about escaping the city for a slow, intentional lunch, and that’s exactly what Kiara and I found at Culinary Table in Lanseria.
From the moment we arrived, the restaurant felt like a hidden oasis—rustic yet refined, surrounded by greenery and grounded in a genuine appreciation for fresh, seasonal ingredients. Culinary Table’s garden-to-table philosophy is evident in every detail, from the organic kitchen garden to the thoughtful menu.
We started our lunch with cappuccinos, and even that simple moment felt elevated. Each cup arrived perfectly creamy and rich, accompanied by delicate shortbread biscuits that added just the right touch of sweetness. It felt comforting and indulgent all at once.

Soon after, we were served sourdough bread and butter as a starter. The bread was beautifully crusty on the outside, soft and airy inside, with that distinct tang that only proper slow fermentation can create. Paired with smooth butter, it was simple but unforgettable—proof that quality ingredients need very little embellishment. We even took some of this homemade salted butter home with us.
For our main course, we chose the beef steak corn tacos, and they absolutely delivered. Tender, flavourful beef nestled in soft corn tacos created the perfect balance of texture and taste. Every bite felt fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully prepared.

More than just a lunch, our visit became an experience—one filled with great food, meaningful conversation, and a beautiful setting. Kiara and I left feeling satisfied, relaxed, and already planning our next visit.
