Our new house and a creepy video // Наш новий будинок і моторошне відео

So the day has come when we became owners of our own “little house under the cherry trees” — and it really is under a cherry tree, because right behind the house there’s a tall old cherry, with lots of shoots spreading out from it. But honestly, everything here is spreading like crazy. This is the view we see right from the gate, just like in the photo. By the way, this is the cheapest house within a 20–30 minute drive from us, but not the worst one. I can even say that in the category up to $20,000, out of everything we looked at (though we didn’t even have close to $20,000, but we checked just in case, hoping we might have a discount), this one was the best. There was one offer for a brick house at $17,000, but it had two separate plots of 9 and 7 ares, and the neighbors were very close. Plus, it was 10 minutes farther away, which makes a big difference, since this house is less than 10 km from us. And here we have 26 ares in a long strip.

Yesterday we came to the plot for the first time as actual owners and… we spent more than two hours running around like kids, laughing, rejoicing, identifying trees by their leaves, and spotting different plants in the thickets, like mint or thyme. I even downloaded a Google app for plant identification, because now it will come in handy. We opened the sheds, planned the layout, assessed the scope of work, and made at least a first plan — what to do, and what to buy to get started.

Even though the frontage is only 14 meters, the neighbors on both sides built on the opposite side, so we’ve only seen them from afar so far (I wouldn’t be surprised if they were watching our wild excitement from their windows — it would be interesting to me too).

While we were searching for a house, we almost bought a vacant plot with utilities once, but my husband was very sad then, because he said he wanted a place with history, with already mature fruit trees, so we’d have something to harvest instead of waiting years for an orchard to grow. A place with shade, where we could sit in summer. Well, now we have more history than we can even describe.

And after all our laughter, my husband filmed a video in a completely different style — but it’s the kind of video we could only make now, before we start clearing, washing, breaking, and painting everything.

Ось і настав той день, коли ми стали власниками свого "будиночка під вишнями" і він реально під вишнею, бо прямо за будинком висока стара вишня, від якої розростається купа пагонів. Але купа тут розростається геть усього. Ось такий вид, як на світлині, ми бачимо зразу від воріт. Це між іншим найдешевший будинок за 20-30 хвилин від нас на автівці, але не найгірший. Навіть можу сказати, що в категорії до 20 тисяч доларів з усього, що ми дивились (хоча двадцяти тисяч у нас і близько не було, але ми про всяк випадок дивились, якщо можна буде сторгуватись). Була одна пропозиція з цегляним будинком за 17 тисяч, але там було дві ділянки окремо 9 і 7 соток, і дуже щільно з сусідами. І на 10 хвилин далі від нас, що вдвічі більше, адже до цього будинку нам їхати менше 10 км. А тут маємо 26 соток довгою смугою.

Вчора ми вперше приїхали на ділянку вже самі як власники і... більше двох годин бігали по ділянці, як діти, раділи, сміялись, визначали дерева по листочках, і різні інші рослинки в хащах, типу м'яти чи чабрецю. Я і скачала собі гуглівський застосунок для визначення рослин, бо тепер знадобиться. Відкривали сарайчики, планували розташування, визначали обсяг робіт і хоча б перший план. Що робити, і що купити, щоб то робити.

Хоча у нас тут по фасаду всього 14 метрів, але сусіди і ліворуч, і праворуч, побудувались з протилежного боку, і ми бачили їх тільки здаля поки що (не здивуюсь, якщо вони спостерігали за нашими шаленими радостями з вікна, бо й мені було б цікаво).

Поки ми шукали будинок, то один раз майже не купили пусту ділянку з підключеннями, але чоловік тоді був дуже сумним, бо він сказав, що йому більше хочеться місце з історією, з вже дорослими фруктовими деревами, щоб нам було що збирати, а не чекати роками, поки сад виросте. Щоб у нас був затінок, і можна було посидіти влітку. Ну ось тепер у нас історії стільки, що й не передати.

А чоловік після усього нашого сміху зняв відео в геть іншому стилі, але таке відео ми могли б зняти тільки зараз, коли ще не розпочали все розчищати, мити, ламати і фарбувати.
