Una llama se apaga || A flame goes out

Desde el 12 de octubre de 2025, el testigo de Hive account@la-colmena ha dejado de estar activo en Hive. Con esto se cierra una etapa de tres años que comenzó el 30 de septiembre de 2022, cuando decidimos encender un nodo como parte del compromiso de la comunidad hispana con la infraestructura de la blockchain.

El propósito fue claro desde el inicio: generar ingresos que permitieran fortalecer el HP del proyecto, mejorar la capacidad de curación de contenido en español y, eventualmente, financiar actividades comunitarias sin depender de fondos externos. Durante buena parte del tiempo, el nodo se sostuvo sin comprometer las recompensas de curación, pero en los últimos meses fue necesario cubrir sus costos con esos recursos, lo cual no es justo ni sostenible.

También nos propusimos alcanzar el top 50 en el ranking de testigos. En nuestro mejor momento estuvimos por debajo del puesto 70, pero actualmente nos encontramos en la posición 90. Aunque no se logró la meta, el recorrido nos permitió comprender mejor los desafíos técnicos y políticos que implica mantener un testigo activo.

Agradecemos profundamente a quienes apoyaron esta iniciativa con su voto y su confianza.

Aunque en este sentido, cada voto tuvo su valor y nos sentimos felices por cada uno de ellos, queremos hoy destacar y agradecer especialmente a Hive account@stoodkev, que fue el primer voto importante que recibimos y abrió las posibilidades para que lográramos mantenernos en el top 100 durante estos años.

El testigo se apaga, pero Hive account@la-colmena continúa con su labor de curación, promoción de contenidos en español y organización de actividades para fortalecer la presencia hispana en Hive.

Seguimos trabajando, con la misma convicción de siempre.

As of October 12, 2025, the witness operated by Hive account@la-colmena is no longer active on Hive. This marks the end of a three-year chapter that began on September 30, 2022, when we decided to launch a node as part of the Hispanic community’s commitment to the blockchain’s infrastructure.

The purpose was clear from the start: to generate income that would strengthen the project’s HP, improve our ability to curate Spanish-language content, and eventually fund community activities without relying on external support. For much of that time, the node operated without affecting curation rewards, but in recent months it became necessary to cover its costs using those resources—something neither fair nor sustainable.

We also set out to reach the top 50 in the witness ranking. At our peak, we were below position 70, but we currently stand at 90. Although the goal wasn’t achieved, the journey gave us deeper insight into the technical and political challenges involved in maintaining an active witness.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this initiative with their vote and trust.

While every vote mattered and brought us joy, today we want to especially acknowledge and thank Hive account@stoodkev, who gave us our first major vote and opened the door for us to remain in the top 100 throughout these years.

The witness shuts down, but Hive account@la-colmena continues its work: curating, promoting Spanish-language content, and organizing activities to strengthen the Hispanic presence on Hive.

We carry on, with the same conviction as always.
