Thoughts on Agendas

Are agendas developed from the People, Politicians, the Press, or Propagandists?

Does the Liberal Media guide the People’s thoughts, or do Conservative Talk Radio and Fox, guide the People?

Does the Academic Intelligentsia have the power to change how the People think, or does the Celebrity Class?

How about the Social Media outlets, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and the like? Do they have the power to change the lifeblood and heartbeat of the American public?

What about Religious Leaders, do they have the power to guide our citizens?

Yes, no and maybe, to all of the above…

Do you have and agenda?

Do I? of course I do…

Here’s an agenda you hear very little about… Let’s unite all Americans in common cause…

When was the last time we heard a Politician propose an agenda of Unity, and actually work towards that end, day-in-and-day-out?

We all have seen the list of prohibited ways to discriminate against others based on, race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and military status… But, are there other ways to discriminate against others? Well, of course… how about political preference? There is an obvious division between many people on the right/conservative and left/liberal stances. Many of the more extreme in both the Republican and Democratic parties literally hate their opposites... and most do not waste any opportunity to express that hatred...

But, it goes deeper than that. People are also divided along the lines of class, and income. How about education, whether it is a formal education, or an education earned through work experience? How far will some people go in support of their sports clubs, or by what kind of car brand they prefer? Do you have preference for the kind of music you like… do you laugh at people that dress differently, or wear their hair in styles you disapprove of? Do you think people that wear tattoos and piercings are too flashy and trashy for their own good, or those without just too fuddy-duddy to be cool, or even relevant in this day and age?

Is there any doubt that ‘we the people’ would be stronger united? Can anyone really doubt the power the people would have if we all pulled together, regardless of our differences?

Can anyone name just one public figure that is actively pushing an agenda to unite all Americans? Why is that? Isn't it a shame that we allow the Propagandists to drive us so far apart?
