한은은 6일 발표한 ‘암호자산과 중앙은행’ 보고서를 통해 “암호자산이 기존 화폐를 대체할 것으로는 보이지 않지만 향후 기술적 문제가 해결되고 수용성이 제고된다면 투자자산 및 지급수단으로서의 활용성은 높아질 수 있다”고 밝혔다
한편, 한은은 “암호자산이 지급수단으로 활용될 가능성은 확산될 수 있다”며 “암호자산이 지급수단으로써 일정한 역할을 하게 되면 신용카드업, 전자금융업 등 지급서비스 업계에 변화를 초래할 수 있다”고 밝혔다
