Political responsibility

Greetings everyone!

Voting is every individual’s right, it’s your responsibility to your nation .

Voting is the act of selecting or choosing a representative of your choice .

In Nigeria 🇳🇬 eligible voters are from the age of 18 and above , everybody of these age and above are expected to vote during election 🗳️

I understand that most times we are very discouraged by the happening of this country, after voting 🗳️ our votes does not count this making some people not to vote again

If you interview a small community in Nigeria asking them if they have voters card 88% of them has , Also ask if 88% of those with voters card if they vote during every election 60% of them will say no that they don’t, ask them of their reasons they will give excuses of ( why I go vote when the one wey I vote last time e no count ) they feel that voting is a waste of time.

Inorder to correct these mindset and change these behaviors I will support that voting be made MANDATORY for every ELIGIBLE citizens. For crying out loud it’s every eligible citizen right so they should utilize it , whether their votes count or not they should exercise their right one day it might count .

If there’s no law guiding people, the people tends to do as they pleases

Laws are made to protect guide and direct her citizens

Every citizen should be made to understand that they consequences for some actions

Remember because you do not want to vote you might think that you are not making any decisions in selecting your representatives forgetting that whether you vote or not you are directly or indirectly choosing a representative.

There was a period that people litter every where with dirt , they dump refuse everywhere making some places unbearable to walk or live in. The Government brought a law that says that any person caught throwing dirt anyhow will be penalized punished and fined, some individuals refuse to listen 👂 but with these laws the offender were punished

Most times people know what to do but they wi not do it but if they see that there’s a penalty for not doing it they will definitely do it

Humans they say are rule abiding Animals 🤔

If laws that will make eligible individuals not to vote during elections such individuals should be trial in a criminal court. Let’s us formalize not voting to be a criminal crime and should be punishable just like every other crime

But I know that so many people will not agree with this method , apart from these method’s government should work on themselves

Government should create a healthy relationship between people and the government, they should encourage the people make them understand that through their votes their voices will be heard . The government should be transparent and flexible towards their citizens in order for them to trust them .
