While Wesley Snipes and the Blade movies had the first Marvel cinematic blockbusters (and absolutely deserve top honors for it) , it was RDJ and the Iron Man series who ushered in the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe and who set the tone for what it is today.

I remember when I first heard about Downey being cast for the part and I thought, “That’s perfect!”. If any actor could understand and portray the complexities of Tony Stark, he absolutely could. And he nailed it.He most definitely IS Iron Man.
