Wild Hearts beat
while
deep breaths retreat
in hopes of another song.

Drops of her
Would mingle with mine;
lost in her rhythm,
confused
by her rhyme.

With my eyes wide open
time
stops,
and slips away.

I stumble,

she
falls
pulling
me
down
with
her

and I break.

So,
here
she leaves me

splintered

with
pieces of her
that won’t fit back in
