Brawl Report #164: A bad brawl
Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it was bad for me and my guild.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 2 wins. This time, there was no free win because all guilds submitted someone to my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 1,762 merits and 24.385 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 8 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did around bad this time, and my guild didn't do so great either.
Brawl fights
There were 4 that I lost, 1 won due to surrender, and 2 that I won. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. You can read more about it here.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The taunt monster was hard to beat, and my opponent had the level, damage, and speed advantage.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. Quora is hard to beat in this ruleset because it allowed my opponent to outlast me.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had the level advantage, and his summoner increased his melee damage. There wasn't too much I could do.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My magic monsters took quick work of my opponent.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The speed and damage advantage is hard to beat.
You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had a level and speed advantage.
You can find the eighth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. This was a tough fight due to my opponent's summoner. It made my opponent's monsters faster, and it doesn't help that my opponent had quite a few healers.
Conclusion
Doing 7 fights for 1,762 merits and 24.385 SPS is a good reward for the effort. Both me and my guild didn't do so great this time, but at least I didn't get completely wiped out.
