Splinterlands: Seeing Fallen legends ruleset for the first time
Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a battle where I saw a new ruleset.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan
The rulesets this time are Fallen Legends. This means that no legendary archons can be used. There is also 40 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for life and dragon.
| Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marlai Singariel | 6 | Summoner | +1 Magic |
| Chaos Rear Guard | 4 | 1st | Shield |
| Thanalorian Scion | 5 | 2nd | Void Armor |
| Mystic Scaleweaver | 9 | 3rd | Slow |
| Daigendark Surveyor | 2 | 4th | Magic Reflect |
| Daarg Deadblast | 7 | 5th | Swiftness and Weapons Training |
| Grimbardun Smith | 6 | 6th | Immunity |
| Total Mana: | 39 |
My summoner is Marlai Singariel for the +1 magic. I have Chaos Rear Guard as my tank with shield. After that is Thanalorian Scion as my backup tank and Mystic Scaleweaver with slow. Following that is two monsters given magic damage due to Daarg. The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. I am relying on my monsters to tank the damage while my magic damage overcomes my opponent.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match due to my magic damage.
Round 4
A few rounds later, my opponent has 2 monsters while I have only lost 1 monster. There is no way for my opponent to turn this around because my magic damage is so high.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle did go exactly as planned. It was an interesting ruleset to see, but I think it benefits me since I don't have any that I can currently use in Modern. This made the fight quite easy as I used my usual magic strategy.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
