Rain: A Blessing

Rain is a blessing from above that God provides.

It's a cold day today because it rains since early morning until this time of writing. Thank you Lord for the rain. We are praying for it for a very long time.

We suffered a sunny days for a long time, heat index rises that causes classes in school to be suspended or DepEd opt into distance learning. We can feel the scorching heat of the sun everywhere.

Around 3 in the morning today, the sounds in the roof wake us up, and we are so happy to know that it is raining. Thank you Lord, for the rain, our lips uttered.

Last April 18 in the afternoon, we visited our garden in the home lot we are still paying for. This is the garden I always share to you here before.

We felt so sad seeing the plants died and almost died because of the long sunny days and rain didn't fall for many days.

The cassavas that we have planted almost lost their leaves and didn't grow so well. Their stem are so thin and looks like they cant give us plenty or bug cassavas.

The bananas seems so stressed and their leaves bow down and broken into slices. The young bananas were not able to grow and seems dying. Our heart felt so sad seeing them like it.

We cannot visit them everyday because it is a little far from were we reside and we always depend on the nature especially the rain to water them.

The papaya lost it leaves and we're not able to produce fruits. It looks like it is so thirsty.

Our rambutan, durian, coconut and even taro died. They didn't survive in the long sunny days and the heat of the sun. We bought that fruit trees and planted in the lot so that someday we will have them but so sad they all died.

The lansones and avocado trees almost died too. They still have leaves but already turned into brown.

My husband installed self watering to these two fruits trees and we are hoping it will help these trees survive. We are just hoping that it will survive.

The guyabano tree and jackfruit tree (not in the picture) who were planted ahead of them and grows first are the only fruit trees that survived.

Despite of the very thin stem of cassavas my son wanted to try if they have given some yield. With all his might he tried to uproot cassavas and look!

In every cassava planted, it gives us one casava fruit. My son is happy having it and at least it gives us something to eat later or the next day.

We went home that afternoon with this sunset view, showing how bright the sun in the whole day.

Today, we received a blessing of rain since 3 in the morning until now that I am writing this 3:22 in the afternoon it is still raining.

We hope that this rain will help all the plants recover from almost dying. We are so grateful for it and we were able to rest from a very hot weather.

Rain is indeed a blessing not just to human kind, to plants, to animals and above all to the mother earth.

Thank you so much for reading.
