custom shirts
Hello creative scissors, here I am going to share with you the wonderful things that I have learned in all this time of absence.
I'm really excited and proud of the beautiful things I've managed to do...
I know that every day I will do it more and better, with detail.
Shirt making is an art, it is a process of expression and perfection.
More than a year ago I entered a fashion design training, the teacher is a designer on the rise... That she has dedicated most of her experience to designing tailored shirts...
She promoted an additional shirt making workshop, which I quickly signed up for, at first super nervous but excited
My biggest dream
Within the making of shirts, my biggest dream was to make a guayabera to my measure, specifically a guayabera dress.
I searched the social networks for the models and I found a beautiful setting in light pink... And I wanted to replicate it, with my learning.
First of all we take the measurements, we make the pattern.
We had to make a masculine garment and a feminine one
During the preparation, the teacher invites them to repeat 40 times what they call the little bag.... Which is the opening of the fist. This step has a super exact technique so that it is centered behind the arm, with a perfect seam.
Perform this procedure 40 times until it will be very good and neat.
The same happened with the assembly of the collar, cuffs and the stitching on the sides.
To make the finishes of a quality shirt, a double seam or auctions must be avoided when starting or finishing the seam...
How is a guayabera different from a dress shirt?
The guayabera is a garment widely used by Latin countries, especially gentlemen, it is a very elaborate garment that is worn outside the pants, due to its ornamental details with very small studs that are placed on the chest and back quarters. . These studs make it a complex piece to make, but of a unique beauty.
These studs were the hardest part for me to make, I had to cut the stitches several times until I got the perfect line....
At the end of this project, I was happy and I wore my guayabera proud of the work done... It is a great satisfaction to see a dream come true and more elaborated by me...
I made several models of shirts and designs to combine colors and textures... In the end I received my certificate, from the hands of the designer teacher.
He continued learning with her.... Next week I encourage myself to post the step by step and the process of my new projects.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure of creating...
See you in the next idea.
Comment if you like it.....
