The Guitar Player

There came a guitar player into this town
Who threw a pile of notes on the ground
To see if they would dance and sing
And what kind of fortune that they might bring
But his strings all broke and his voice fell flat
So he tried to see what he could do about that
He pulled out his balls and started to juggle
But they fell on the floor despite all his struggle
The balls rolled around with the notes down there
The notes picked up the balls and played four square
He thought, “That’s really funny, maybe that’s my act
I’ll work on that a little and maybe I’ll be back”
The balls hit the notes and the notes hit the balls
And before you know it, he invented pinball
He brought his invention back to that town
He brought a parade, even hired a clown
The clown could juggle and that was cool
And finally the town wouldn’t call him a fool
He bought a piano but it was full of mice
The mice started to play and he thought, “That’s nice”
They played that piano but no one could see
The mice reading the music right under the keys
They learned some Beethoven and even some Bach
A few jazz tunes, some country, and rock
So the player piano was his next invention
And that’s what can happen when you don’t follow convention
