an ode to the moon : August 20 2024

it was a full moon if you couldn't tell,
this picture is the best i could do to capture that bright light up there.
i guess i should be thankful to those clouds,
for if not for them this picture would not go well.

this nightwalker saw this as an invitation,
so out he went and walked far to the gas station.
oops, that couldn't be it, this surely isn't right,
to go left to the old temples or right to the park i might.

oh this fine, fine night is but a rare sight,
the weather recently has not been that helpful, nothing but spite.
to the streets, to the city to where the bright lights are white,
yes, let's throw it all out there and be quite wild tonight.

wild was it not, that filled me a bit with excite,
but how come i am here in this park, isn't this an old site?
that statement was surely a bluff, upset i am slight,
to bring me down in shambles after i gained height.

oh well, the damage is done, i'm wrong so don't bark.
oh! oh! i've remembered of rumors. here or there somewhere in this park,
people gather, get frisky, frolic, and get steamy in the dark.
oh yes, what you are thinking is right! exactly! no need to snark.

but where could it be, should i find it? i wonder where.
the lights are too bright, no not there, not likely there.
this park is just too huge, i don't even know where to begin,
but if i do, then what? nothing! in google maps i'll pin.

it is a wide wide park, with lots of open spaces,
been here often, too often to complete the moon's phases.
i guess it is my first where it is this full and clear,
that thing in the sky, though romantic, isn't it but a sphere?

sphere, yes it is, but have you ever heard,
"lunatics" is from luna, luna is another term it's referred?
people become fools when the full moon is up,
sorry to that couple, this is but envy, yup!

so onwards i moved on, get away, to home let's go.
the park though breezy, hot dangerous thoughts overflow.
oh no! in this graveyard let's bury these. i've gone too low!
let us blame it to the full moon! i'm a fool, i know.
