Good Coffee
Good Coffee
There is no doubt that the market is flooded with various coffee brands; each one seeks to win the hearts of millions of people, thereby securing a respectable market share and building a profitable and sustainable business over time. That is why here in Venezuela we are witnessing a veritable commercial war, where every company strives to innovate with its brands, logos, colors, and packaging, always trying to be more eye-catching, exclusive, and unique.

So, while I was walking through the supermarket, I came to the coffee section, and for some strange reason, my favorite was sold out. But in its place was a new one, from eastern Venezuela, produced very close to the sea, with totally cutting-edge packaging and colors that play with intensity, making it impossible to overlook.
I always like to try new brands, and that’s why I didn’t hesitate for a second to take this one home, so I could taste it and form an opinion—one that doesn’t come close to that of professional tasters, but does fill me with enormous personal satisfaction, since life is meant for trying and discovering new things.
It’s a bit strange to hear that coffee comes from the East, since that region is warm, close to the sea, and has a history more closely tied to cocoa cultivation. Yet there’s no doubt that coffee has also found places to thrive there, giving rise to a regional industry that is gradually making its way in a complex and highly competitive market.
I realized that the flavor of this coffee is somewhat different from my favorites, but at the same time, it undeniably has its own personality, a good color, and a very distinctive aroma. It turns out to be a bit more bitter, without fruity notes, and with a character typical of eastern Venezuela, where one must be tough, resilient, and persevering, since between the sun and the sea there are towns and cities whose daily tasks are more complex, but at the end of the day it all comes down to the satisfaction of a job well done each day and the hope for a much better future.
For an entire week, this coffee accompanied my mornings and afternoons at home; it turned out to be my confidant during some difficult days, but at the same time, it celebrated with me having made it to the weekend, where all that remains is to look toward the future and enjoy a few days of vacation. Perhaps we’ll meet again, but until then, I carry the satisfaction in my heart that I enjoyed a different flavor, supported a new brand, and lived to the rhythm of discovery and surprise.
