Anunciaban agua el viernes y caí yo, de “flai” en el espacio “Desde África Vinieron” en el Centro Provincial de Artes Visuales.

Fui invitado por su anfitriona Marcia Jimenez Arce, quien junto a Machin, abren debate entre el invitado y el público en temas que relacionan el arte, los mitos, la religión y yo diría que la sociedad en general.

Yo tenía miedo al principio, todavía me cuesta hablar en público. Y más si es en vivo y en directo.

Pero cuando Marcia arranca, no hay forma de no dejarte llevar, no hay forma de no sentir el calor humano y profesional entre ellos, el público y tú. ¡Qué manera de pasarlo bien! ¡Qué manera de sentirme cómodo!

I was nervous at first; I still find public speaking difficult. And even more so when it’s live and in front of an audience.

But once Marcia gets going, there’s no way you can’t get swept up in it; there’s no way you can’t feel the warmth – both personal and professional – between them, the audience and yourself.
What a brilliant time I had! What a relief to feel so at ease!

And what a way to learn from Machin, the IFÁ priest and founder of the Casa Asheda Cultural Project!

Without a doubt, a great way to round off this intense January. I urge you not to miss this event, which takes place on the last Friday of every month.
I can’t forgive myself for having missed it over the last ten years…
