Be kind
kindness is one very simple yet powerful act we could ever render. it does not require a person to be rich or always connected, it just requires a willing heart. Something as simple as a warm smile, checking up on friends or family with a quick message or even commenting on a person's post with a nice compliment goes a long way to reveal the intentions of a willing heart.
In a world where many people are busy and on the fast lane, kindness slows us down and helps us reconnect with people. Kindness actually benefits the giver and the receiver. We feel good as humans when we give something out, render a kind service and the receiver is profusely grateful. Happiness attracts and warms the heart, as we see the other person happy, we are happy too.
This reminds me of someone I assisted with the tiniest help I must say, she kept showing her gratitude for days so much so that I felt embarrassed and told her to stop. She was indeed grateful! I may have thought that what I did was little, but surely it meant a lot to her.
So, kindness definitely improves the mood of everyone involved, both giver and receiver. It also strengthens bonds because the receiver from that point considers the giver as his own personal person, one to not joke with.
There is a man that shows acts of kindness to hardworking people in dire need who are finding life difficult financially. He randomly sees them on different streets and roads and after spotting them, he interrogates them and goes on to render financial help to them. This always warms my heart and most times I cry especially when I hear what they go through daily. Whenever I'm around people and I scroll through my phone then see his video, I just scroll past if I don't want to cry because best believe I would, if I go ahead to watch. That is the effect kindness could have on even onlookers. Many even go on to ask how they can support the initiative or the person needing help.
When we choose to be kind, we create a cycle of positivity that transform many around us, so today I encourage anyone reading this to try one act of kindness if you are not already doing so. it may be calling someone to say hello, giving a compliment or just telling someone to stay safe. You never know how much this means to them.
