Technology: More pros than cons?

Technology has become an important part of our lives now. Almost all, if not every aspect of life, now use one form of technology or the other. Business, communication, education, entertainment, health and other parts of our lives are influenced by technology. However, as the contest topic puts it, is technology making life easier or more complicated?

We will all agree that our lives have been made easier by technology. Just being able to type and share this with you all is as a result of technological development. We are all from different parts of the world yet we can communicate and share posts like this in real time that thousands elsewhere can get to read just by picking up a phone. Some have learned different skills and bought courses that helped them advance in life.We can send emails, see people in another country through video calls, text from the confort of our homes or make calls on a mobile device. I can pay for services or goods just by pressing my phone and making transfers. I dont have to go to the bank to get money all the time because we all have mobile banking apps. I even get to teach students who live in other countries from my own bedroom weekly. I do not have to meet physically or in a traditional classroom to teach anymore.

The health sector has also improved as a result of technology, and we can even do remote consultation with doctors now and receive quicker medical guides or test results. There is hardly any aspect of our daily life that does not use technology now. All these were once impossible because we did not have technology.

However, there are some complications from having technology at our disposal. Many now overuse it so much so that they can not even concentrate. They are distracted from other life's activities and even become overstimulated as a result of always being online or screen. Social media pressures many into a lifestyle they can't afford. People no longer have physical connections and discussions during outings as most are on their phones rather than talking to others. Even children no longer want to go outdoor to play. They just want to stare at screens all day.

So, instead of making life simpler, technology now creates more responsibility and expectations to be reached. In other words, while technology is a blessing to us, it also poses complications.

Since we all know it is useful, we want to create a balance in how we use them. We want to be intentional about the time and activities we do with them. Make a productive use of technology while enjoying other real-life experiences. Then we would say we are using it progressively and comfortably without complicating our lives
