The system need the change, not the law.
In a democratic country election plays a very important role because in the election, people vote for their desired candidate whom they want to see as the president of the country. They elect the leader, considering that the leader, as well as the president will lead them and bring the prosperity for the country, as well as improve the life of all citizens. Every person has their own belief and whom they vote depends on how they think about a candidate.
Through the election, people choose the suitable candidate according to their opinion and give the power to lead the country. Choosing the president as well as leader is a very important thing, and I believe that it is the responsibility of every citizen of a country to participate in the election and give their vote to elect this suitable candidate as a president. Every vote has power and if some people deny voting that may result in unexpected outcome which can end up selecting wrong candidate. There are many people who don't give their vote and it's not an ideal situation. Should government make a law to force every person to vote? If any person denies voting, they will be considered as criminals and they will receive punishment for it.
But before that we need to consider why people are not so active to vote. Election happens every five years according to my country’s rules and it's something people are supposed to be encouraged normally. Giving vote is one kind of excitement. So why do people refuse to vote during the time of election? I participated in two elections for vote but in the third election I didn't participate. Why did I choose to do so?
Distance is not a truly problem because I have motivation to give a vote as long as it carries a value. But when I feel there is no value for my vote, I don't bother myself to go to the election center for vote. This is because I think rather than wasting my time going there I would use the time in more meaningful ways or resting in my home. At least it would be beneficial to me. Let me share why I didn't go to elections center for voting.
The first thing is there is no fair election system in my country. The powerful candidate party always takes control of election center, and they vote for themselves to make them winners. And it's the situation of most of the election centers of my country. Many people are forced to give the vote to a candidate, whom they don't want to vote for, but they are threatened to vote for the candidate. If it's the situation, then what's the meaning of going to the center for it?
Additionally, in election center, clashes occur and sometimes some people get injured because of it and going there is quite risky. Why should I take the risk for something that actually carries more value? I believe that if there is fair election system, I will go. In fact, most of the people will participate in the election proactively. So, I believe that making law is not necessary for it. Government should focus on fair election systems, to encourage people and let them know that their vote actually carries the value. It will be enough to change the scenario. If people are not going to give their precious vote, it means the system is not right and they are not to blame.
