A Morning Saunter

Half the month has passed, whew! Magandang buhay💛

I had my first leisurely short walk a little while ago. Normally, I would not go out walking early in the morning, but I figured I'd break out a little and make micro-changes from the usual to experience a bit more of life's surprises.

Amusingly, GL identified them as water spinach flowers. They are actually sweet potato flowers. That's why we can't totally trust GL, lol!😊

Anyhow, years ago, when we were in BC (first house, lived there for a year or so), I would wake up really early and go for a jog, up and down the roads for a few rounds, then quietly marvel at the sky and the horizon at sunrise before walking back home.

When we moved to the Lil Kingdom (our home for 5 years), walking and hiking became part of my routine, no more jogging. Finding mushrooms in the woods is one of my simple pleasures. I was always eager to see new growth around.

And the sight of wildflowers makes me want to scream in awe and wonder. Though I often end up saying "Whoa, wow... wow..." repeatedly.😁

Then we moved here in DD, and regrettably, there has been much less walking or hiking, just short rounds within the property. But perhaps today's stroll will be the beginning of many more leisurely, unhurried walks, where we get to explore beyond our space, and discover the natural wonders of this tiny place we now call our third home.

Anyway, I was delighted to find the glory bush along the driveway blooming and thriving, giving us a little more privacy, shielding us from prying eyes on the street below.

A clearer mind, happy feet and soul, bright sunshine, blue skies. Aah... The day is looking great already. And breakfast is waiting. Cereals, anyone?😁 Rolled oats, that is, with some almonds and other unflavored nuts.
