Strategy and Budget Update: Content Distribution, Pillars, Campaigns

image.png

This is a follow-up to our previous proposal update.

As a follow-up to our proposal, we'd like to share how we plan to execute this campaign over the next 12 months. This includes how we'll distribute content, the campaigns we'll launch, and the real data we're using as our baseline to measure progress.

Content Distribution

Our primary focus will be X (Twitter) and Instagram, creating content tailored to each platform instead of recycling the same design across every social network.

  • Instagram and TikTok: @hiveblocks and @hiveblocks_es

Content Pillars

Our content strategy will focus on five main areas:

  1. Onboarding Campaigns
  2. Integrations and Features
  3. Rewards and Incentives
  4. Partnerships and Collaborations
  5. Educational Content and Ecosystem Growth

Planned Campaigns

These campaigns are working hypotheses. We'll continuously evaluate them using real data, investing more in what delivers results and adjusting or replacing what doesn't.

Hive Creator Fund

A Creator of the Month program with HIVE or HBD rewards, supported by smaller themed campaigns developed in collaboration with existing Hive communities.

Back to Hive

Targeted advertising aimed at inactive users and existing Hive followers, highlighting what's changed across the ecosystem and providing a simple path back into Hive.

Build Faster on Hive

A series of tutorials centered around "Build Your First dApp on Hive", combined with developer incentives for completing technical challenges. Every campaign will direct developers to:

Budget Update

After reviewing the proposal, we've decided to shift part of the design budget toward growth marketing, campaign incentives, and paid promotion while keeping the total budget unchanged at 8,816 HBD.

Design, Video, and Social Media5,0003,800
Growth Marketing, Partnerships, Incentives, and Ads2,3603,560
Total8,8168,816

We're increasing the advertising budget to 1,000 HBD, with approximately 30% allocated during the first three months of the campaign.

The primary platforms will be X Ads and Meta Ads.

Because Hive is still a niche ecosystem with unique onboarding challenges, we'll evaluate advertising carefully instead of relying on paid traffic alone. In many cases, organizing an X Space with a large community, exchange, or ecosystem partner can deliver better results than traditional advertising, often at a much lower cost.

Current Ecosystem Metrics (Starting Point)

These metrics provide the baseline we'll use to measure the impact of the campaign over time.

What these numbers tell us

Out of the 219 new Spanish-speaking users who joined during the last 30 days, 21% (46 users) became part of the Aliento community, followed by niche communities such as Skate Hype and Liketu.

This existing organic flow gives us a solid starting point. Our goal is to strengthen it through targeted campaigns, with a particular focus on communities that already have a strong presence across Latin America.

What This Means for Our Strategy

The most important number is the percentage of inactive creators. Eighty-six percent of Spanish-speaking creators haven't published anything in more than six months, and only 48 accounts became active again during the last 90 days.

This is one of the main reasons we've shifted more of the budget toward growth marketing and campaign incentives.

The Back to Hive campaign is designed to improve that reactivation rate by making it easier for former users to discover what's new and return to the ecosystem.

~19% of Hive's active creators are Spanish-speaking (estimated via language-tag distribution). Our formally tracked segment using tag:spanish captures only 1.4% of all Hive active creators — a 13.4% capture rate of the spanish-speaking market. The remaining ~1,374 Spanish-tagged active creators represent an expansion opportunity that we're not currently engaging.

As the campaign moves forward, we'll continue publishing updates supported by verifiable on-chain data so the community can track our progress. As always, your feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Working Together with Hive Applications

For most people, the Hive experience doesn't begin with the blockchain itself. It begins with the applications built on top of it.

Platforms like Ecency, PeakD, Liketu, Snapie, and 3Speak are the products new users interact with first. They shape the first impression of the Hive ecosystem.

Instead of promoting Hive as an abstract blockchain, we want to work alongside these applications by featuring them in educational content, building joint campaigns, and directing new users toward the application that best matches their interests, whether that's blogging, photography, video, or microblogging.

At the same time, we'll continue expanding developer resources by improving documentation and building a public gallery of projects, code examples, and real-world use cases. The goal is to reduce the learning curve and make it easier for developers to build applications on Hive.

We've already started working on this initiative:

We'll also publish a separate post focused on Hive's economy and tokenomics, where we'll share additional ideas and proposals.

Final Note

A significant part of the research, planning, and execution behind this proposal is being carried out at a cost well below standard industry rates.

Based on current market prices for strategy, content production, design, and consulting, we estimate that this reduces the real cost of the project by approximately 70%.

Our goal isn't to maximize profit.

Our goal is to make sure Hive doesn't fall behind when it comes to digital marketing.

We would rather operate with minimal margins and keep the ecosystem moving than request a budget that reflects the full market value of this work.

We believe that delivering consistent, measurable results is the best way to build trust with the community over the long term.
