Intuitive paintings IV
Previously, I focused more on painting shapes. This time, the focus is more on brushstrokes . I didn't have any plans on what a batch of paintings would be for the day but looking at them altogether, they have a common color - black. XD
Well, it's not really black but only close to it. I use less black now mainly because I like how ultramarine blue and raw umber looks like.
The darkest one for this was mixed with a bit of green as well to make it look nice with the others. I'm trying to get used to the contrast of desaturated colors and vivid colors together so I added the pinks as well.
I try not to follow too much on the color palette generator since it only contains 4 colors and I need to get used to using other colors as well with them.
This one reminds me of Garnet and Peridot from Steven Universe. Maybe because I was listening to the album while I was doing this. :P I like the ruby red and the almost-lime greens and how they're not too much.
Using ultramarine blue and making it stand out really looks "professional" to me. I think a lot of contemporary artists use this color palette and that reminds me of it. It is no wonder why this shade of blue was also popular even in ancient Egypt.
I was thinking a lot about war that's currently happening and how it just seems like we will never achieve a complete peace in any era. Despite our technological advances, greed still prevails.
Also I'm not sure how that shade of yellow became a neon shade despite using the same paint tube and mixes. I think it is because it is beside a very dark color. :D
Which one's your favorite?
Mine is the third one. The simplicity looks really good to me and reminds me of an artist named Tracy Emin. :D
