Bed rot girlies
While doom scrolling on the bed, I had a genius idea of painting myself bed rotting lol. I like paintings about solitude, especially one that involves drapery either in clothes or blankets - so I want to paint something similar... although bed rotting can be a negative thing and especially when you're scrolling through social media designed to keep you addicted.
I'd like to explore these ideas so I took pics of myself in different poses to paint them later on.
I'm also applying the things I learned with my color studies and using the color schemes that I liked. I was thinking of using color schemes that are new to me. But when I slowly finished the study, I realized that I liked this color scheme because I used it in my art before lol. And that should be true to any other colors that I am attracted to.
The colors could have been better I would say. Some can be desaturated so others can stand out but I can explore that later on when I make another study that's bigger and more detailed.
This one is giving me summer vibes because of the colors. I like them. :D I'm also painting them more loosely than the previous one. :P
I didn't really have a plan with the pose and all that so I just did what felt natural to me. XD
This one I like the most. I like the pose most especially and the lighting on the jeans. I didn't paint the lighting properly since I'm more focused on the colors but if I paint it on a bigger canvas I would like to explore that more. :D
Lastly, I wanted to paint a mainly red subject. The blankets and others were not painted properly lol so they look a bit random but I like how the redness (or crimson) turned out.
Which one's your favorite?
Do you think I should make a painting series about this?
