Algae up close
Shot with Fuji X-T5, 80mm macro lens
At the mangroves area, there were a lot of our green friend just hanging around. They were so thick and so vividly green.
At the mangroves area, a lot of the algae were like cobwebs on a haunted mansion. They were covering a lot of the area. Almost like a fabric even.
This pic reminds me of Avatar 2's Metkayina village. Maybe they have drawn inspiration from algae. :D
Apparently, algae are not considered as true plants but they produce most of the oxygen on earth. Although I'm not sure what type of algae in this pic exactly is since it is a broad term.
The ocean produces around 70% of the earth's oxygen. That's crazy... but then again earth is mostly ocean so we shouldn't be surprised. :D
Now we understand why NASA is constantly looking for water in another planets to look for life.
I love how the water gives a nice shine to the photograph. :D
This is how they are being washed up on this island. I guess it gets that deep on high tide. :o
They're so interesting up close. I thought they are very soft and like slimey but apparently they look like cloth fibers up close.
That's my hair after not washing it for 1 week.
The closest I can get.
Algae may be annoying for us beach-goers but learning how important they are for all of us, now I feel less-annoyed with them haha. We should be thankful of their hardwork despite them only being composed of one cell... yet us humans with multiple brain cells can't even comprehend what 'push' and 'pull' means. :P
Hooray for our autotroph fren.
