HDev Team Updates — New Developers Cohort, New Hive Apps, and Vylor (Voice-First AI Finance)

This is the third post in our development-update series for June. The first two covered our core-project HAF & analytics work — the HAF-based stats, funnel and reporting layer — and FYP & Waggle, our new personalized discovery layer. This one is about people and new products: the developer cohort we've brought onto Hive this cycle, the apps they're building, and a deeper spotlight on Vylor — an AI, voice-first finance app that is actively integrating with Hive.

A new developer cohort on Hive

Growing Hive means growing the number of people who can build on it. Last month we onboarded 15 engineers onto Hive — all of them new to the chain. Each was given a structured introduction to the blockchain and its primitives (accounts, keys, Resource Credits, HBD, custom_json, the DHF), then a research ramp-up on the existing ecosystem so they weren't reinventing what already exists, before starting a build track. The products below are the output of that cohort — some already live, others just kicking off. Every one of them is a new reason for someone to create a Hive account.

Apps built on Hive

• Waggle (live) — a TikTok-style vertical "For You" feed powered directly by our Waggle ranking API (covered in the previous post). Swipe full-screen through personalized and global ranked content, with on-chain engagement (upvote, reblog, follow, comment) signed via Hive Keychain. It turns Hive's firehose of content into a modern, mobile discovery experience. hdev-core.github.io/waggle
• Hive Runner (live demo) — an arcade game that literally runs across the Hive blockchain: you play a courier delivering blocks while real on-chain activity (live blocks, witnesses, fresh posts, accounts you follow) streams past as the world around you. Your real Hive activity powers your run, and you compete on an on-chain weekly leaderboard. Built with Vite + TypeScript + PixiJS, fully client-side — no backend to trust. hdev-core.github.io/hive-runner
• HivePulse (Chrome extension) — turns the browser into a live Hive dashboard: it monitors Voting Power and Resource Credits in real time with a color-coded badge so you never miss the moment to vote or transact, and embeds Ecency DMs / community channels with unread tracking and a side-panel mode. Just getting started

Five more projects were kicked off this cycle. These are at the project-initialization stage — we're sharing scope and intent, with the builds now underway:

• HiveLore — a collaborative storytelling platform where contributors co-author branching narratives on Hive, with each branch and vote recorded on-chain.
• LINGO — a daily Wordle-style word puzzle with HBD rewards, using a commit-reveal scheme so answers stay provably fair until reveal.
• HiveTrivia — a daily trivia mobile app (React Native) with HBD prize pools.
• Hive Chameleon — a 3D multiplayer camouflage / hide-and-seek game with on-chain identity and rewards.
• Hive Freelance — a freelance marketplace (Upwork-style) with on-chain escrow and reputation.

We'll cover these in more depth as they reach playable/usable milestones.

Spotlight — Vylor: an AI finance app integrating with Hive

Vylor — "Talk to your wealth." Vylor is a voice-first personal-finance app: you log, analyze, edit and forecast your money through natural conversation instead of manual entry. Say "I spent $12 on a burrito from my Cash wallet" and it parses the amount, category, account and time; ask "where did my money go this month?" or "can I afford a $1,200 laptop?" and it answers against your live data with a Safe / Caution / Danger run-rate forecast. A proactive Sentinel layer surfaces issues before they bite, and edits to older records require a spoken confirmation. It ships today as a standalone, local-first app (v1.5) on Android.

What makes Vylor interesting for Hive is that, unlike most "wallet" apps, the integration is native to the product rather than bolted on — a finance app is exactly the place where Hive's money primitives belong. That integration is already underway, not just planned.

What's already built. Vylor now speaks Hive as a first-class chain. Link a Hive username (or more) and Vylor reads your on-chain wealth — HIVE, HBD (liquid and savings), and Hive Power — values it in your own currency from live price feeds, and folds it straight into your total net worth and voice analytics. Ask "what's my Hive worth this month?" and it just answers. This first step is deliberately read-only: no keys, no signing, no custody, no risk — it only ever calls public read APIs. Hive sits in the same net-worth view as your cash, bank and other assets, so for a Hivean it's the first time their on-chain holdings live natively alongside the rest of their money, in a polished consumer UX.

Why Hive specifically. Do we really need to answer this? lol. Annnd for a budgeting app whose whole job is helping people make their money work, "idle cash that quietly earns" and "instant, free transfers" aren't crypto features — they're better versions of the savings-account and payments features every finance app already wants. That's the wedge: a mainstream, voice-driven "neobank" experience with real yield underneath, and — for existing Hiveans — the cleanest mobile front-end yet to their on-chain finances.

The direction of work from here. With read-only import shipped, the roadmap layers on Hive's active features, each non-custodial by design — keys never leave the user's own Hive Keychain, and Vylor only ever holds a short-lived authorization. We've completed the signing research and settled on HiveAuth + Keychain mobile as the path (the app requests a signature over an encrypted channel; the user approves in Keychain; the key never touches Vylor), with writes paying Resource Credits rather than fees. On that foundation:

• HBD savings, by voice — move idle cash into HBD savings and have Vylor track the compounding and thread it into your forecasts ("at this rate you hit your goal four months sooner").
• Voice-driven transfers / remittance — "send $20 to @mom" as a feeless, near-instant HBD transfer, real cross-border utility with no card rails in the middle.
• Own-your-data backup — client-side-encrypted records the user controls, written to the chain.
• Habit rewards — small, real, withdrawable rewards for logging streaks and staying on budget.

Net: Vylor brings a genuinely polished, AI-native consumer finance product onto Hive, positions Hive as the identity, ledger and value layer beneath a voice experience, and — seeded through the Actifit community — becomes a mainstream on-ramp that introduces non-crypto users to Hive without ever making them think about "crypto." It's a two-way win: a strong new app for the ecosystem, and a conversational front-end to on-chain finance for Hive's existing users.
