Overcoming Temptation: Lessons from the Wilderness to Victory (1 Cor.10:13)

Hello everyone

Hear me out when you are tempted, it is with something common to our canal man. The first thing you should know is that temptation finds expression through the mind. No man on earth is above temptation no matter how much you think you have wecured yourself. The moment you think that you can overcome temptation by determination in the flesh you have already fallen a victim of the temptation in future.

Luke 4:1-3 teaches us a way big lesson if you read your bible well you will discover that Jesus was tempted so many times before the three popular temptation we all know of. Listen carefully there are three major times a man is tempted in his life- at the beginning at themiddle and at the end. When you want to start a project satan comes to tempt you so that you will mot start that peoject if you succeed to overcome it he comes again while you are working on the project to make you stop halfway and if you succeed in overcoming that he comes at the end which is always the most difficult to overcome this is because he has used the first trial and the second one to study you and he will know what you like and what you don't like without the holy spirit you will be totally useless. Satan brings this temptation at the end to make you end shamefully.

Temptation are of three stages

1. The lust of the flesh
2. The lust of the eyes
3. The pride of life
   If you study Jesus temptation, He passed through all this stages of temptation.

How can we overcome temptation

1. The number one way ro overcome temptation is by the holy spirit.
2. Be watchful and prayerful (Luke.22:40)
3. By consistent studyof the word.
4. Having the confidence that Jesus is always with you and wont allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear(1 cor.10:13)
5. Change your mindset; dont negotiate with temptation.
