The Arabian tradition clothing style are shaped through many factories such as the hot weather in the desert and Islamic religion instructions, and we can find a little differences between the middle east clothing style and the north African Arabian clothing style so we will try in this article to spotlighting the most common Arabian tradition clothes for men and women.
Jubbah
It considered the symbolic Arabian and Islamic men clothes, they wear it because it provides the covering that necessary to perform the prayer, in addition to being very appropriate in hot weather, as it does not stick to the body, which provides more comfort. You can notice some differences between the design of the jubbah in the Middle East, which is characterized by simplicity and the absence of any drawings on the cloth, while the matter differs in North Africa, especially in Morocco, where the decorative drawings are considered one of the most important characteristics of the jubbah.
Abaya
The loose black Abaya is usually what you find most in the wardrobe of most Arab women, as it is characterized by complex and different embroidery from one country to another, but the principle is the same, as this type of dress expresses simplicity and chastity, as we know that Arab society is mostly conservative and there is no opportunity to wear any A kind of clothing except for a few women, and yet they cannot go outside the house in the Abaya.
Hijab
Most non-Muslim communities consider that the word Hijab expresses anything but that garment that covers the head. This is a mistake because the Hijab includes the complete dress and covers the entire body, while the garment that covers the head is called the veil. It is worn by Arab women except when they leave the house. The Hijab is distinguished from the Abaya in that it does not contain any decorative drawings in most Arab countries.
Caftan
It is a robe worn over the Abaya in the cold weather in the past, but today it has changed its design and the time of wearing it, as it contains many decorative drawings in addition to very complex embroideries, and its wearing today in Arab societies is limited to brides on the wedding day only
Hayek
The last dress on our list today is the Hayek. It is said that its origin is from Andalusia, but it was soon very widespread in the Arab Maghreb, i.e. Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. It is a large loincloth with which a woman covers her entire body up to her head before she leaves the house. The picture will explain how.
Despite the diversity of types and tastes of clothes among the Arabs today, especially the younger generation of them, the traditional clothes are still rooted and represent the solid bridge between the past and the present, in addition to that they represent a great history of one of the best textiles throughout the ages.
