_{A Radiant Panda, a defeated rival, and a victory that illuminates everything in its path🌀}

Today I want to share with you my latest Panyang fan art, captured in his radiant mode, seconds after defeating Zinguini.

A scene full of power, determination, and that epic vibe that makes these holos so incredible to paint. I had this fan art planned for quite some time, but I wanted to render it so much—and have it look so ridiculously good—that while I was working on it, Holozing announced a new character!

And honestly, I loved that, because it means I now have more holos to draw. More creatures, more energy, more chaos… perfect!

🌟 RADIANT PANYANG: POWER UNLEASHED

In the Holozing universe, Panyang arrived to rival the other big creature that was already there: Zinguini.

More light, more energy, more visual impact, and an aura that literally makes the environment vibrate. After defeating Zinguini, I imagined Panyang releasing a final wave of power, remaining in this majestic pose, with that almost supernatural glow that reflects not only victory but an internal transformation.

⏰ CREATIVE PROCESS

✏️ Phase 1: Sketch & Lineart

My initial idea was an aerial view of Panyang wholeheartedly celebrating his victory, but little by little I changed the pose because I didn't like it much anymore, so I molded it slowly until I achieved the final pose.

🎨 Phase 2: Grayscale

I resorted to my favorite drawing tactic, which is to first fill each element with a vibrant color because, despite being just one main character, I subdivided it into several sections so I could work comfortably. In that way, I detailed it in shades of gray as the sketch lines gradually disappeared, and I was certainly able to render the most relevant details of the Panda's face.

🌗 Phase 3: From Gray to Color

Do you know the formula yet? If not, come and I'll remind you: to quickly add color, you only need three layers with very basic blending modes. First, a layer in Multiply mode to apply the initial color strokes, then a layer in Overlay mode to add saturation to the colors, and finally, a layer in Soft Light mode to balance the colors.

Although that's a bit of a crutch, because here I went straight to using Soft Light on Panyang since he's a character that is mostly black and white, but needed to take on the ambient tones—in this case, the lighting from his own radiant effect, which I initially sketched with blue in the Hard Light blending mode.

🌟 Phase 4: Final Touches

I merged the crazy sketch layers and the layer where I filled in Zinguini, and I started adding the specific details of that character. He looked great even though he was just a secondary character that I knew I was going to blur, so over-detailing him wasn't necessary.

What was absolutely necessary and essential was to accentuate Panyang's radiance, because even though this big, pot-bellied guy was the protagonist of the scene, what really gave him presence and an aura were the colors of his radiant mode. I wanted to vary these colors because the whole painting was looking too violet, so the small strokes of green and yellow on Panyang's belly really stood out a lot.
