Freewrite || Between Two Old Ladders
This morning I walked past a harvested rice field and noticed two old metal ladders lying side by side on the ground. They looked rusty and forgotten, surrounded by dry straw left behind after the harvest season. At first glance, they seemed like ordinary objects, but the longer I looked at them, the more they reminded me of life itself.
These ladders were once useful tools. They helped people reach higher places and complete difficult tasks. Now they rest quietly in the field, exposed to rain, sunlight, and time. Yet even in their worn condition, they still tell a story about hard work and dedication.
The rice field around them also seemed to have its own story. The harvest was over, and only the remaining stalks and scattered straw covered the land. For many people, a field like this might look empty. However, farmers know that this is not the end of the journey. After every harvest comes preparation for the next planting season. The cycle continues, bringing new hope and opportunities.
As I stood there, I thought about how life often follows a similar pattern. There are times when we work hard to achieve our goals, and there are moments when we must pause and recover before starting again. Just like the field waiting for new seeds, we also need time to prepare ourselves for future challenges.
The old ladders reminded me that every tool, every effort, and every season has value. Even when something appears worn out or forgotten, it may still carry lessons worth remembering. Success is rarely built in a single day. It comes from consistent effort, patience, and the willingness to begin again after each season ends.
Looking at this peaceful scene, I felt grateful for the simple reminders that nature provides. Sometimes the most meaningful reflections come from ordinary places, where silent objects and quiet landscapes inspire us to appreciate the journey we are on.
Thank you for reading my freewrite today. Have a wonderful day and keep moving forward, one step at a time.
