Bourbon and Tequila
Since most of my recent blog posts have been more somber (mostly about COVID) I figured I would share something much different today. Personally I love a good cocktail and find it a great way to relax or to spend time with friends. I also like to play mixologist some as well, making classic cocktails or putting my own "spin" on things.
A couple years ago a friend challanged me to make a drink which included his two favorite spirits, Tequila and Bourbon. It took me a while but I ultimately found something that I feel is quite good. The "Jeremy" starts with a base of grapefruit juice and adds 2 parts tequila to 1 part bourbon, then a small pour of Aperol and a dash of whiskey barrel aged bitters to round it out. Play with the ratios yourself because this is quite a touchy drink and it will be strongly influenced by the exact type of each ingredient you use. ENJOY!
