Draw This In Your Style Challenge Entry: Popcorn Head

Hello Hivers,

This is my entry to the the Draw This In Your Style Challenge by our friend boley@boley

I tried something fun today and joined a DTIYS challenge featuring this cute Popcorn Head character. The original reference drawing had a big fluffy popcorn hair that instantly caught my attention parang mix ng wizard at snack time haha. I can't resist trying my own version and so here it is.

First is I started with a rough sketch with some loose lines to get the shape right. I played around with the proportions and shapes I turned the red popcorn box upside down for a change then added the big head, tiny legs, and that little wand.

Then moved on to the line art. Medyo trial and error like the chunky shoes I added later to balance the big popcorn box for the body. I think they fit right in. I changed the stance to make it lively and about to take action.

This is a fun relaxing activity to do and when your day is about to end. Parang comfort doodle after a long day or week. Nakakatuwa lang how a simple prompt can lead to different interpretations from artists everywhere. Mine does not look like the fairy but this cute little boy who is so fun and mischievous — parang may sariling personality na siya.

For the colors I used a color picker so I get all the shades right from the reference image I think I do not need to change any of them because they work really well with my new original character.

Kudos to the creator of the original Popcorn Head for such a fun idea and sharing it with the community. Till the next DTIYS

Hope you guys join in the challenge and have fun like I did. Thank you for dropping by
Mark
