[ᴇꜱᴘ-ᴇɴɢ] Animales de la Serranía del Perijá

Hace unas semanas fui al parque nacional sierra de Perijá, y me la pasé muy bien, una experiencia increíble, maravilloso y llena de mucha emoción, así como también de conocer nuevos espacios, escenarios y ver animales diferentes.

A few weeks ago, I went to the Sierra de Perijá National Park, and I had a great time—it was an incredible, wonderful experience full of excitement, as well as the chance to explore new places and landscapes and see different animals.

La fauna y la flora de la sierra de Perijá es muy diversa, es muy bonita, ya que el parque es como un paraíso escondido.

The flora and fauna of the Sierra de Perijá are very diverse and beautiful; the park is like a hidden paradise.

Yo me llevé mi cámara, y estuve tratando de capturar algunos momentos y animales del camino, pero iba en un Jeep y a pesar de tomar unas buenas capturas hay otras increíblemente desastrosas ya que era, la foto o sostenerme, y bueno, para evitar una caída mortal, me sostenía.

I brought my camera along and tried to capture some moments and animals along the way, but I was riding in a Jeep, and even though I got some good shots, others turned out incredibly terrible because it was either take the photo or hold on—and, well, to avoid a fatal fall, I held on.

Conocí animales, a la distancia por supuesto, algunos que fotografié con cautela, otros que quedaron en mi mente, como por ejemplo los Arawatos (monos aulladores), que primera vez que los veo en persona, pude capturar algunos mientras que otros eran muy escurridizos además de estar sobre la copa de los árboles, que por cierto eran bastante altos.

I saw animals—from a distance, of course—some of which I photographed cautiously, while others left a lasting impression on me, such as the Arawatos (howler monkeys). It was the first time I’d seen them in person; I managed to capture a few on camera, while others were very elusive and perched high up in the treetops, which, by the way, were quite tall.

Otros animales que pide observar fueron estos inmenso zamuros que estaban bastante cerca de mí, se quedaron tranquilos y podría apostar que hasta posaron para mí, o esperaban que muriera para devorarme, aún no lo sé, jaja, pero estaban imponentes y pude detallarlos.

Other animals he asked me to observe were these enormous vultures that were quite close to me; they stayed still, and I could bet they were even posing for me—or maybe they were waiting for me to die so they could devour me; I still don't know, haha—but they were impressive, and I was able to get a good look at them.

A parte de los maravillosos paisajes, flores y árboles, pude capturar una linda mariposa que me impresionó por sus colores, naranja y negro, era bellísima.

Aside from the wonderful landscapes, flowers, and trees, I was able to capture a beautiful butterfly that impressed me with its orange and black colors—it was absolutely gorgeous.

También pude ver un zorro, un búfalo, un gavilán, pero realmente no pude tomarles fotografías porque íbamos en camino y fue muy rápido el momento, también era de regreso de la Sierra y ya la cámara venía muy descargada no me dejaba proceder.

I also saw a fox, a buffalo, and a sparrowhawk, but I couldn't really take any pictures of them because we were on the road and it all happened so fast. Plus, I was on my way back from the Sierra, and my camera battery was almost dead, so I couldn't take any more pictures.

En el camino a la Sierra también vimos unas vaquitas, son las que más se ven allá en la Villa del Rosario, aún así son tan bonitas. Me habría encantado poder captar todos los animalitos que ví, sin embargo espero que las pocas fotografías se aprecien bien y gusten. Hice lo que pude con el zoom al máximo y mi pulso.

On the way to the Sierra, we also saw some little cows—they’re the ones you see most often over in Villa del Rosario, but they’re still so cute. I would have loved to capture all the little animals I saw, but I hope the few photos I took come out well and that you like them. I did the best I could with the zoom set to maximum and my steady hand.
