The Joker - Scribble Fan Art [ENG-ESP]

Good afternoon, dear friends. I hope you're all doing well. The days are flying by for me now that I only post on Sundays, and I feel an incredible sense of connection. So, here I am again to share a new piece with you. I've drawn the Joker as portrayed by Heath Ledger, of whom I've done several different versions. This time, I used the scribble technique with a ballpoint pen, adding an extra detail. I bought a multi-color pen for my daughter, since she loves to draw and especially loves ink, so I decided to try it out on one of my drawings. Here's a brief step-by-step guide; I hope you enjoy it.

Buenas tardes queridos amigos, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, los días pasan muy rápido para mi, ahora que solo publico los días domingos, siento la cercanía de manera increíble, así que aquí estoy de nuevo para compartir con ustedes un nuevo trabajo. He realizado un dibujo del Joker protagonizado por Heath Ledger, de quien he realizado diferentes versiones, en esta oportunidad utilizando la técnica scribble con bolígrafo, añadiendo un detalle extra. Compré un bolígrafo multicolor para mi hija, ya que a ella le gusta dibujar y le gusta mucho la tinta, así que decidí probar este bolígrafo en uno de mis dibujos. Aquí les mostraré como ha sido el paso a paso de forma breve, espero que les guste.

What was the canvas? Well, as is my custom, a creative and very inexpensive option is to use shopping receipts. I really like this trend because the drawings have an urban aesthetic, and when you add color, the result is fantastic. Here, I started by making a sketch with just loose pencil lines, being very careful not to erase since this paper releases a very strange pigment which stains the paper when it comes into contact with an eraser.

¿Cual ha sido el lienzo? pues como ya es una costumbre en mi, una opción creativa y muy barata es utilizar el papel de los recibos de compra, me gusta mucho esta tendencia porque los dibujos quedan con una estética urbana y cuando se le agrega color, el resultado es genial. Aquí he comenzado haciendo un boceto solamente con lápiz líneas sueltas, con mucho cuidado de no borrar ya que este papel suelta un pigmento muy extraño el cual al entrar el contacto con la goma de borrar el papel se mancha.

As you can see, this isn't an expensive or specialized art pen, not at all! It's just a simple children's pen. So, after sketching in pencil, to add an ink background I first use a black pen to work on the central part of the face, like the nose and eyes, which are darker in the original makeup design.

Aquí pueden ver que no se trata de un bolígrafo muy caro o especializado para dibujantes, nada de eso! se trata de un simple bolígrafo para niños. Así que luego de hacer el boceto con lápiz, para agregar un fondo de tinta utilizo en primer lugar un bolígrafo negro para ir haciendo la parte centrar del rostro, como la nariz y los ojos los cuales son más oscuros en el diseño original del maquillaje.

In the next step, I start using the colored pens, especially to create the Joker's macabre smile, which hides a large scar with war paint. Here, I gradually and quickly fill in the red section until the smile is complete. I also add different colors to the previously painted central area to accentuate contrast and depth.

En el siguiente paso si comienzo a utilizar el bolígrafo de colores, especialmente para hacer la sonrisa macabra de este Joker, el cual oculta una gran cicatriz con pintura de guerra. Aquí voy poco a poco haciendo con líneas rápidas toda la parte que va de rojo hasta completar la sonrisa. Así también voy agregando colores diferentes en la parte central antes pintada apara acentuar contraste y profundidad.

Next, I move on to the hair, because drawing and painting is like traveling through the pencil, and the path is left behind with the paint. First, I use a light yellow tone for the illuminated parts of the hair, which the Joker dyes green. To create the contrast between light and shadow, I start with this tone and then add the rest as needed.

Después me dirijo hacia la parte de cabello, porque dibujar y pintar es viajar a través del lápiz y el camino se deja atrás con la pintura. En primer lugar utilizo un tono de amarillo claro para las partes iluminadas del cabello, el cual el Joker se tiñe de color verde, entonces para hacer el contraste de luces y sombras en primer lugar utilizo este tono para luego ir agregando el resto que haga falta.

Now you can see how, little by little, by playing with the pen's colors, the macabre face of this anarchist Joker emerges more clearly, especially in his hair and the depth of his gaze. It's not just black; I've also added other tones to play with light and the perception of depth.

Ahora pueden presenciar como poc a poco al jugar con los colores dle bolígrafo va apareciendo mejor el rostro macabro de este Joker anarquista, especialmente en su cabello y la profundidad de su mirada. No solo esta compuesto de color negro, sinjo que también he agregado otros tonos par ajugar con la luz y la percepción en la profundidad.

I'm also adding purple, so I don't forget the Joker's clothes, which are always brightly colored, including his vest and tie. Finally, I'm adding his signature phrase, which he used to intimidate many of his victims: "Why so serious?"

Voy agregando también color púrpura, y así no olvidarme de la ropa del Joker la cual siempre es de color llamativo, así también el chaleco y la corbata. Por último agrego su frase característica, y la cual decía a muchas de sus víctimas para intimidar: ¿Por qué tan serio?

What do you think of the result? It's a bit ironic and contradictory, using such a cute-looking pen to draw a character that always inspires dread and fear. ¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado? es un poco irónico y contradictorio, utilizar un bolígrafo de apariencia tan tierna para dibujar aun personaje que siemrpe causa pavor y miedo, es una de las ironías más bellas de la vida jejej.
